My name is Shatia Thompson. I received my Masters in Special Education in 2012 at Nyack College, NY. It was there where I found my niche to work with individuals who present challenging behaviors and wanted to help provide behavior management strategies to support their needs. After receiving my license as a Special Education teacher I moved to Virginia and shortly after pursued a certification in Applied Behavior Analysis at Old Dominion University. My experience in this field consists of me practicing as a Registered Behavior Technician in the school, home and clinic based environment to eventually becoming a licensed Behavior consultant in the state of Pennsylvania. After 7 years of working in the field of ABA and unashamedly retaking the BACB exam multiple times, I officially received my board certification in January of 2023. It was through this necessary process that I discovered a passion for teaching peers like myself about ABA along with helping others pass their exam. I particularly developed a heart for those who are multiple test takers, wrestling through the varying emotions of pressing through this process. I pride myself in not giving up on my passion and through my tutoring services I want to encourage others to do the same.
